- Ok, I'm new to this newsgroup and confess I know nothing about modems, so I
- need lots of help here.
-
- I just installed Win95 on my machine at home and no modem works anymore.
-
- I have a Ram Mod (secondary vendor ?) internal 14.4 data/fax modem (rockwell
- chips on the board) which works great in WFWG 3.11 (using Terminal) or Dos
- (running Comit). It locks up in Win95 Hyperterminal. When trying to use Comit
- Lite for Win95 it shows a 'modem initialization error'.
-
- I replaced the modem with a 14.4 internal data/fax from Phobe (secondary
- vendor ?) and even put in a US Robotics Sportster 14.4 data (no fax) modem.
- ALL these work great in the old Dos or WFWG (I kept the old OS via dual boot)
- and even got USR to work running Comit in a Win95 Dos shell, but no modem will
- work directly out of Win95.
-
- The modem is set up on Com 4 IRQ 3, but does not show any conflicts in the
- Device Manager.
- Another thread on this newsgroup referred to problems with Com 4 and internal
- modems but I just found this group and obviously missed some important
- discussions.
-
- Again, I know so little about modems I'm not even sure what questions to ask.
- What do I need to check or change to resolve this problem ?
- Any help appreciated.
- Thanks
